Gold Medal Plates 2014 - Chef Leo Wins Silver!

Executive Chef Leo Pantel won Silver at Gold Medal Plates in Regina on November 21, 2014. His dish was, as described by critically acclaimed food writer, James Chatto, “beef cheek, impeccably marinated and braised, the meat divinely rich and succulent. Beside it was a tiny square of blue cheese panna cotta that contained some fragrant powdered chantrelles and showed a pink dot of redcurrant gelee on the surface. The beef rested on a pale pillow of pureed seasonal vegetables – celery root, parsnip and potato smoothed with butter and cream. Two butternut squash gnocchi added a moment of weight and the dish was finished with some bright yellow mustard blossoms on the beef and an orange-colored firestick blossom.”

Regina Wine and Spirits Gala 2014

The Regina Wine & Spirits Gala was held at the Conexus Arts Centre on November 7 & 8, 2014. Chef Leo prepared a delicious array of appetizers to be paired with the wine samples presented at the event.

The Great Saskatchewan Mustard Festival 2014

The Conexus Arts Centre has participated in the Great Saskatchewan Mustard Festival this year. The Great Saskatchewan Mustard Festival is on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at The Willow on Wascana from 11:00AM-3:00PM.

Chef Leo and Catelli

Chef Leo has participated in Catelli’s Help Us Feed Hope Campaign.

Chef Leo contributed a recipe to their digital cookbook. The cookbook is featured on Catelli’s facebook page. For every share the cookbook or a recipe gets Catelli will donate a serving of pasta to a food bank.

The Great Saskatchewan Mustard Festival 2013

The Conexus Arts Centre has participated in the Great Saskatchewan Mustard Festival this year. The Great Saskatchewan Mustard Festival took place on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at The Willow on Wascana. Chef Leo wanted to provide a taste of what the Conexus Arts Centre brought to the festival.

Gold Medal Plates 2013

Chef Leo has been selected to compete in the 2013 Gold Medal Plates competition which will be held at the Conexus Arts Centre on Friday, November 1, 2013.

Chef Leo Wins Silver Medal!!!

Congratulations Chef Leo on winning a silver medal at this year's Gold Medal Plates. Chef Leo served Organic Sweet Apple Cider Braised Sturgeon Valley Berkshire Pork Belly, on an apple sun choke mash with Birch Syrup glaze, and a Jerusalem Artichoke Crisp served with Wood smoke a la minute’. Chef Leo's dish was only one and a half points away from winning Gold. We are proud and honored to call this talented Chef our own here at the Conexus Arts Centre.
